stability in the midst of the storm
Ballast Lodge is a place of peace and stability in the midst of life’s storms, where you can nourish your body, mind and spirit.
Relax and unwind in our spacious, welcoming accommodations. Immerse yourself in nature by exploring the property, located on Shepody Bay.
Refresh your mental health with some exercise, a puzzle, or a good book. Allow yourself to take a break from technology, news and social media. Enjoy the sounds of the birds, the wind blowing through the trees, have a campfire or engage in conversation with your hosts. Spend time with people you love, reflecting on things that really matter.
Heal. Grow. Be still.
Ballast Lodge is set on 8 acres in Johnson’s Mills, New Brunswick. It is located right on Shepody Bay (an extension of the Bay of Fundy), less than one kilometre from the Johnson’s Mills Shorebird Interpretive Centre. Your hosts, Pat and Anita Neuman, live on site in their house. Guest accommodations include our large, two-bedroom guest house and a smaller, two-bedroom cottage. One of the garages has been converted into a “gymbrary” where guests can use our exercise equipment, play darts, or borrow books, board games, and puzzles.
