Ballast Lodge is a place of peace and stability in the midst of life’s storms, where you can nourish your body, mind and spirit.
Refresh your mental health with some exercise, a puzzle, or a good book. Allow yourself to take a break from technology, news, and social media. Enjoy the sounds of the birds, the wind blowing through the trees, and the waves on the beach. Have a campfire or play some yard games. Spend some time in quiet solitude or be with people you love.
Heal. Grow. Be still.

Our Property
Ballast Lodge is set on 8 acres in Johnson’s Mills, New Brunswick. It is located right on Shepody Bay (an extension of the Bay of Fundy), less than one kilometre from the Johnson’s Mills Shorebird Interpretive Centre. Your hosts, Pat and Anita Neuman, live on site in their house. Guest accommodations include our large, two-storey Guest House and a spacious, single-level Cottage. The Guest House and Cottage each have their own deck, barbecue, yard, and campfire pit. Guests from both houses have access to our “gymbrary”, where they can use our exercise equipment, play darts, or borrow board games and puzzles. They can also help themselves to firewood, yard games, and extra chairs from the shed. Our lookout over the bay is a spectacular place to view the tides and the sunsets.
